A while ago I came across a few reviews of the renewed Lancome Long-Lasting Softening Concealer and I was very wowed by the results. Even though I did think it’s crazy expensive, I still decided I wanted it and at some point I wanted to buy it. That point was a few weeks ago. After testing it thoroughly it’s time for me to review it. If you’re interested in finding out if this little guy is worth the 36 Euro’s I paid for it, make sure you keep on reading!
Let’s talk packaging first shall we! This super fancy Lancome concealer comes in a shiny silver box, which in my opinion looks super classy and gorgeous. The box is bigger than I expected to be, and so is the tube that is inside the box.
The tube itself is, like I said, quite big and for the most part black. On the bottom part of the tube you’ll find a transparent part through which you can see the colour of the concealer. Now that I’m thinking about it, it might also be a piece of coloured plastic in the same shade as the concealer, but I’m not sure about that.
The concealer comes in a few shades, most of them are pretty light. The lightest shade is 01 Beige Pastel. According to what I’ve read on the internet, Beige Pastel has a pink undertone and is therefore perfect for most pale girls. I’m still not sure what kind of undertone I have, but this shade does look good on me.
Normally I like getting my concealers a shade lighter than my skin, but most of the time that isn’t even possible. This one is slightly lighter, but not a lot. Only like half a tint, maybe even less (if that makes any sense). Because of that it’s not only perfect for covering up dark circles, it can also be used to cover up any other blemishes on the face.
Onto the product itself. This Lancome Long-Lasting Softening Concealer has SPF 30 in it, which is a lot. I really love that. The skin underneath the eyes is very thin and delicate and it definitely needs protection from the sun, but it’s something most of us forget. So the fact that this concealer contains SPF 30 is pretty incredible.
Aside from that this concealer also promises the following things:
- It corrects signs of stress and fatigue
- It a natural smooth finish
- Minimize fine lines around the eyes
- Is long lasting
In my opinion it really does do all those things. This concealer does give insane amounts of coverage. It’s not as amazing as I expected, but it does do an amazing job. I feel like the amount of coverage does really depend on the way you apply it (with a brush, sponge or your finger), but overall the coverage is great. I would say it’s almost full coverage.
The finish is absolutely stunning as well. It’s very even and flawless looking, like you retouched that area of your face. It’s smooth and it doesn’t look thick or cakey at all, which is something I really love.
Left: with concealer – Right: without concealer
The long lasting part is definitely true as well. On both pictures I’ve been wearing the concealer for 12 hours straight. I wasn’t able to take a picture right after applying it because I’ve been so busy and I had to be at school at 9 AM everyday, so I just didn’t have time to do so. But these two pictures do give you a fair idea of what it’s like.
When it comes to covering up blemishes it does do an amazing job as well. The big fat blemish in between my brows was actually super bright red, and as you can tell it’s pretty much neutralised, even after 12 hours. I’m super impressed by that. It’s amazing!
Overall I’m really impressed by this concealer. I like that you get quite a lot of product and I really do like the packaging. I’m super impressed by how amazing this concealer is at covering up blemishes and dark circles and I love all the other things it does. Obviously it is an expensive product, but I’m so glad I bought it. It’s totally worth it for me!
