Last year I went to Krakow with my best friend and everyone always asked me WHY? Why are you going to Poland. Obviously Poland is a great country but it isn’t really know for its tourism. This year I’m going to Poland again. This time we’re heading to Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Once that came out I got asked the question even more than last year. Because everyone just keeps askin I thought why not decide a post to it explaining why going on a vacation to Poland is literally amazing an I’m also going to talk you through the reasons why it’s so amazing. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading!
It’s not because I’m Polish
For some reason people think I’m going there to see family because apparently I’m Polish now. Well let’s just get that out of the air first and foremost. I’m not Polish, I’m actually 100% Dutch so that’s really not why.
But why am I going there than? Well first of all because Poland is just absolutely gorgeous. I think it’s something a lot of people don’t know but Poland is just beautiful. Krakow for example has this gorgeous square with lots of gorgeous buildings. The streets are just adorable, they have gorgeous parks. Everything about that place was just stunning. I have to say that I never realised how gorgeous Poland is before either, but now that I do know I feel the need to share that.
Another reason why Poland is great is because of the food. They have all types of food there, Italian, European, Polish, you name it. They also have lots of gorgeous breakfast places where they have the best pastries and sandwiches and they also have lots of juice bars and things like that. All of those places look really modern (and slightly hipster) and are definitely worth the visit.
But it’s not just the fact that they have nice restaurants. The food there is also very affordable. Compared to what we pay here for a cup of coffee or a bowl of spaghetti you pay next to nothing there. As a student that’s actually quite a wonderful thing so that’s definitely a reason to go there.
Staying in the expenses part: just like the food the hotels and public transport is very affordable there. We’re staying in a gorgeous apartment-hotel for a week and it only costed about €140 per person. I mean that’s nothing compared to hotel prices in other big cities like Paris or London or even Amsterdam.
Public transport is the same thing. Taking a cab in the Netherlands is super expensive and something I have actually never done before. But in Poland that’s completely different. Back in Krakow we took a lot of cab rides which has never costed us more than €5.
Something you might not know is that shopping in Poland is absolutely amazing. Warsaw has a ton of huge indoor malls filled with the most amazing stores including Sephora but they also have a Bath & Bodyworks and lots of other stores I’d love to have where I live. Compared to the Netherlands Poland is just next level amazing. And since I’m a bit of a shopaholic, I think the fact that Poland has amazing shops like that is just amazing.
The last reason why I think Poland is great is because they have nice weather. It’s not sunny all the time and it’s not incredibly hot, but I personally am not the biggest fan of the heat and I prefer it to be nice enough not to shiver, but definitely not too hot. I also don’t mind a bit of rain every now and then so weather-wise Poland is just the perfect country for me.
All together Poland just has everything a girl like me could ever wish for. It’s not very expensive there, they have amazing food, the cities are filled with huge malls and the weather is just perfect. Aside from that it’s not too far from the Netherlands so you don’t have to be in the air for too long. It’s just the perfect place to go on vacation for me and that’s why I’m going there.
So, I hope this finally explains why I’m going to Poland again and why I think Poland is a great country to go if you’re going on vacation. I know some of these reasons may be a little superficial, but I think that’s okay. Anyway, thank you so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know if you have ever been to Poland and if so please let me know why you like it there!
