Freeman Cucumber Peel Off Mask

18/08/2015

In my second most recent beauty haul I showed you guys I got this mask by Freeman. Freeman is one of those brands I’ve heard a lot about, but never really tried. When I saw this one in an outlet store I decided to give it a go. I bought the Cucumber Peel Off mask. Normally I prefer mud mask, but because cucumber is really refreshing and it’s summer, I decided to give this one a go. If you’re interested in finding out whether I like it or not, keep on reading!

The Freeman Cucumber Mask comes in a large green squishy tube. On the bottom is an image of slices of cucumber and water. This represents the cucumber in the mask and the refreshing effect of cucumber. The rest of the packaging contains information about this product and directions on how to use it. I think the packaging is basic and slightly old fashioned, but not ugly.

The tube contains 150 ml of product. Looking at the size of the tube I expected more, but that’s not really a bad thing since 150 is still quite a lot of product. I feel like this tube would last you quite a long time. I’m obviously not a hundred percent sure about this because I haven’t used it that often yet, but I think this tube contains enough product for about 30-50 masks, depending on how much product you use.

On the back of the tube Freeman makes some promises regarding this product. It says that this mask is super-cooling and skin-quenching. It promises that it gently peels away impurities than can cause the skin to be rough and dull. The cucumber and Aloe in it soothe your skin while moisturising it, ensuring the skin will feel silky-smooth after use. It’s perfect for normal to combination skin.

To be honest, I think the promises are kind of extreme. When you take this mask off your skin will in fact feel soft and smooth and the impurities that cause roughness around my nose were pretty much gone. But when it comes to the super-cooling part I’m kind of disappointed. Because the product is relatively cold compared to my body temperature if felt kind of cooling, but the product itself didn’t feel refreshing or cooling at all. It felt like any other feel off mask.

The thing I do like about this mask is that the peel off part works really well. Most peel off masks never come off really easily because they always tear, but this one was surprisingly easy to take off. It also didn’t take an extremely long time to dry. You’re only supposed to keep this on your skin for 5 to 10 minutes, which to me is a great amount of time. This way you can enjoy a bit of me-time, but you don’t have to walk around half and hour with your face covered in sticky stuff. Besides that you can also use this when you don’t have a lot of time, but you still want to pamper yourself.

Over all I think this Freeman mask is okay. I’m not super impressed, but I’m also not disappointed. I like the way my skin feels after using it and the fact that it’s super easy to peel off, but I do think it’s a bit of a bummer that it’s not really a cooling mask.

The Freeman Cucumber Peel Off Mask is available at the drugstore for €3,99.

That was it for today. I hope you liked today’s review and let me know if you’ve any experience with Freeman masks!
