For quite a while now I’ve been a huge fan of the The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. I’ve gone through three tubes already. I have reviewed it (I believe) quite a long time ago, but now it has a new packaging and I have tried it over a longer period of time, so I decided it would be a great idea to do an updated review kinda thing on it. If you’re interested in finding out more about this serum, make sure you keep on reading!
Let’s start off with packaging. I was quite surprised to see that The Body Shop changed the packaging of their Pore Minimiser. I didn’t know they did until I received my package, since the picture on the site was still the same as it used to be (at this point the picture has changed btw).
For the record, the tube on the left is in the old packaging and the one on the right is the new packaging. I don’t know if they only changed the packaging or if they changed something about the formula as well, but as far as I know they just changed the packaging.
I do really love this new look. It’s a lot cleaner, more professional and more modern. I like how clean and simple it is, and I think this packaging looks way more professional and classy than the old one. Overall I think The Body Shop did great renewing the packaging, I love it.
The Tea Tree range by TBS is made for people with blemished skin. Even though I used to have pretty clear skin, I do have quite some blemishes by now, which makes it a great product for me. But even if you don’t have a lot of blemishes, this product could still be great for you if you have oily skin. That because this is a pore minimising product and people with oily skin tend to have more visible pores.
On the back of the tube TBS tells us a little more about this pore minimising product. They say that it smoothes, primes and mattifies the skin. That sounds like a wonderful product, doesn’t it?
Back in the day I used to think that this was some kind of serum, but according to what it says on the back of the tube, this is more like a primer and a skincare product in one. I personally never use it as a primer, but more as an extra step in my skincare routine. That because I think it does great things for my skin.
This product does mattify the skin, but in a natural way. It clears blemishes and it does do something for my pores. I tried to capture that effect on camera, but you couldn’t tell at all, so I’m sorry for not being able to show you that. You have to trust me on my word this time.
The texture of the product is really nice. Most products for oily skin are gel based or even a little jelly, and other skincare products are just very rich. This is nothing like that. It’s also not like your typical primer. It doesn’t feel like it’s full of silicones at all.
The product itself has a bit of a yellowish colour and is very light weight. It’s not a very rich and thick texture, but it’s also not really thin. I really like the way it feels on the skin. It sinks in quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy layer. Perfect!
Overall I still think that the The Body Shop Pore Minimiser is a great product. Even though it’s meant to be used a a primer, I still like using it as an extra step in my skincare routine. It mattifies my skin, it fades my pores and it does create a nice canvas for your makeup. I really enjoy using this product and I highly recommend trying it out if you have blemished and/or oily skin!
The The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser is available online and at the TBS Stores for €11,-.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know which skincare products you’re loving lately!
