Not too long ago Benefit launched an entire eyebrow collection filled with tons of different products to fill in and perfect your eyebrows. Since eyebrows are such hot topic at the moment and I love trying out different things to fill them in I though it might be fun to buy one of their sets that comes with three products from the new collection. Today it’s time to tell you guys how I like it and why. If you’re interested in finding that out, make sure you continue reading!
There are a total of three different sets available, one for defined brows, one for bold brows and one for soft and natural brows, which is the one I ended up buying. All sets contain 2 full size products: a product to fill in the brows and a product to either set or prime the brows. The third product in the set is a travel size version of Benefit’s High Brow and to top that all off all sets come with a thingy to help perfecting the shape of your brows.
On the back of the box of the set it shows you which products your set contains. Mine contains the Benefit Goof-Proof brow pencil, the Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! eyebrow gel and the Benefit High Brow Pencil.
When you open up the box you’ll find all three products and the little tool to help you draw the perfect shape. Packaging wise I think Benefit really nailed it this time. The packagings are extremely adorable and look bad ass, just like I expected from Benefit. All brow products from this collection come in similar packagings and I love that a lot!
Let’s first take a closer look at the shaping tools that come in this set. There are 4 shapes in total. Two are for straight brows and two are for arched brows. The stencil has a shape on each side. If you put it in the little holder you can easily hold it underneath your brow as you are filling them in.
Usually I’m not a huge fan of these things at all. I always feel like the shapes are a bit off or they are just impossible to hold at the right place during the entire process. But these stencils actually have pretty reasonable shapes, pretty accurate and because of the little holder it’s super easy to keep it in place.
Onto the first real product of this set, the Ready, Set, Brow! Clear Brow Gel. I am a big fan of setting my brows with a brow gel, but I mostly do prefer using a tinted one. Just because they add that extra bit of colour and finishing touch to the brows that a clear gel doesn’t do.
However, this gel is pretty nice too. I’m not disappointed at all. The gel is pretty thin and has a very different texture than I expected, but it works really nice.
Because of the special shape of the wand it’s very easy to apply this brow gel. It goes on like a dream, seriously. It applies the gel in a settle but perfect way. Sometimes brow gels can get quite heavy and make your brows look like you put a ton of hair gel in them, but with this product that isn’t the case. It’s hardly even noticeable that you have any gel in there at all, but it does really perfect and set the shape and the hairs of your brows.
Overall I really like this product. I actually like it better than I expected. It’s just the perfect brow gel for my brows. I really like how the wand manages to not overload your brows with gel and I love how natural it looks. It’s definitely worth the try!
Onto the second product, the Benefit High Brow. This is a highlighting pencil made to highlight the area underneath your eyebrows. I usually do that using an eyeshadow or if I feel particularly fancy I might even use a concealer to do the trick, but I’ve never really used a pencil product for this.
However, I do really like the way it looks. The pencil has a bit of an icy pink colour to it which is perfect to really lift that brow and make it look absolutely perfect. It also sharpens the brow and makes it look like you’re a brow-professional and let’s be real here for a minute, isn’t that what we all want?
Onto the last and main product of this set, the Goof Proof Brow Pencil. The entire new brow collection contains three main eyebrow product (for filling in the brows): a gel cream, a very precise pencil and this arched pencil.
The pencil comes with two sides. One side has a spoolie to it and the other side got the pencil. I really like it when brow products come with a spoolie because it means you don’t have to carry around a separate brush in order to comb through your brows. Everything you need is in one place.
The pencil is available in 6 different shades, but if you decide to get one of these sets there are only three shades available. I went for shade number 3, which is perfect for everyone who has light to medium brown hair. This pencil has a cool to neutral undertone to it which makes it pretty much perfect for most people with light to medium brown hair.
The shape of the pencil makes it really easy to fill in your brows. Normally it might take me up to 5 minutes to really perfect my brows, but with this product everything is done within the two minute time mark. It’s so quick and easy!
On the picture I used both the Goof Proof Brow Pencil as well as the Ready, Set, Brow Clear Brow Gel. I had been wearing it for a couple of hours here and I had faced pretty hot weather, but everything looked pretty much as perfect as it did when I just applied it.
I really like how natural but defined my brows look when I use this pencil. There’s almost no way you can screw up your brows if you use it, because the shape makes it so simple to get that shape right. The colour matches my brows perfectly and the gel keeps them looking good all day!
Overall I’m a very, very big fan of this little set. I’ve been using it an awful lot and I’ll definitely continue doing so. This brow pencil is so quick and effortless, it’s the perfect product to use if you’re in a hurry or if you’re just way too tired to bother filling them in with something that requires precision. The gel and highlighting pencil are perfect to finish of the look and all together they create the perfect brows. I highly recommend giving this set a try!
