August has been an amazing month. At the beginning of August I returned from my amazing vacation in Warsaw where I shopped a lot of new makeup products and the first two weeks I didn’t have to work so I had a lot of time to put everything to the test. I’ve tried out a lot of new products and I fell in love with a lot of them. Today I’m going to show you guys which products made me the happiest throughout the month of August. If you’re interested in reading about that, be sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with some skincare products. My first favourite is the Philips Visapure. I’ve been using it for over a month now and I still love it as much as I did when I first started using it. It’s a great little machine that allows you to deep clean your skin and it works like no other. Ever since I started using this device my skin has been incredibly soft and smooth and it has really improved the quality of my skin. I’m really glad I finally decided to buy something like this, because it really is worth every penny!
Another skincare favourite is the Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser. I’ve been using this every night for the last month and a half and it’s just amazing. It’s such a unique product. It’s very mild and gentle, it has something creamy to it and it makes my skin feel really amazing. It was a little more expensive than my usual cleansers are, but it definitely is worth it!
Moving on to makeup. My first makeup favourite is one you probably already expected to be in this post. It’s the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette in Seductive Beauty. I’ve had my eye on it for quite some time but because it’s very expensive I didn’t buy it. Until I got an email telling me Charlotte Tilbury was having a sale and this palette happened to be one of the sale-items. I immediately ordered it and I can’t be more happy with it.
It’s just the perfect palette for on the go. I took it with me to Warsaw and I used it everyday there. I also love taking it with me when I sleep over at my boyfriends place or just anywhere away from home. This palette has everything you need for a nice and simple look but it also allows you to create something a little more smokey and sultry thanks to the darker shades in this palette. Quality wise it’s just outstanding and therefore it’s one of my favourites!
Next up is another eyeshadow palette. I bought this at the airport on our way to Warsaw and that’s something I usually don’t do, but lord I’m happy I did it anyway. It’s the Estée Lauder New Neutral Eyeshadow Palette and the pigmentation is just insane. I have never seen or felt an eyeshadow palette with shadows this smooth and creamy and this pigmented. This is just the perfect palette for everyday and I absolutely adore it. I really, really do.
Another eye makeup favourite is the Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara. I was in a bit of a mascara drought for a while and I came across this one multiple times, but I always ended up buying another one. Until a month ago when I decided to just buy this one. It’s the perfect mascara. It has a really nice and thick wand with spikey hairs that does a great job at adding volume, length and curl to the lashes. It stays on all day and it even survives a little bit of rain. It’s one of the best mascara’s I’ve tried so far.
Moving on to lip products. My first lip favourite is this lipgloss from Fleur De Force. I got it in the shade Starry Starry Night which is a gorgeous bright pink colour with a bit of a berry touch to it. It’s a very bright colour and something I’d normally never wear, especially not if it’s also a lipgloss but I did it anyways and I loved it. This is a very pigmented lipgloss with a gorgeous shiny finish to it. It’s very lightweight and not too sticky and this puppy stays in place all day. It also fades very naturally and because it also stains your lips a little bit you’ll have pink lips all day long!
My other lip favourite of the month is the Bobbi Brown Lip Color in the shade Brownie Pink. I bought this back in Warsaw not really knowing what to think of the colour and with no idea what a Bobbi Brown lipstick would be like and I was mind blown. From the texture to the pigmentation to the colour. Everything about this lipstick is just phenomenal. It has definitely made it onto my favourite lipsticks of all time list and that’s not something every lipstick is capable of doing.
To spice things up let’s talk about some body care favourites for a moment. One of the body care products I really fell in love with throughout the month of August is the The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Shower Cream. It’s the most amazingly nice smelling shower cream with the nicest creamy and soft texture ever. It feels nice and soft on the skin, it’s not drying and it will leave your feeling nice and taken care of. It might seem like just another shower gel, but this really is a unique one!
But that wasn’t it for my body care favourites yet. I also tried out two new body care products from the Zoella Sweet Inspirations collection. Well, I actually tried three, but only two became favourites of mine. The products I fell in love with are the Zoella Bath Latte and the Zoella Double Creme Body Cream. Both have a really girly and sweet scent to them and they feel gorgeous on the skin.
Having discussed that, let’s go back to makeup because I have three more makeup favourites to share with you guys. The first one is the Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation. This foundation has been a real rollercoaster for me. When I first tried it it looked absolutely horrible. I mean completely horrific. It was super cakey, very powdery and it just didn’t look good at all. It was so bad I even decided to completely re-do my makeup.
After that experience I was kind of hesitant about it. I didn’t feel like using it again, but I also felt bad about not using it because it was quite an expensive product. I gave it one more shot and surprisingly enough it actually turned out amazing this time. It turns out that the first time I used way, way, way too much product and the key to using this product is to use very little at once. After figuring that out I’ve been loving this foundation. I’m wearing it on a daily basis and my skin has never looked this good. It’s definitely one of my top five foundations at the moment and that’s quite something.
Next up is a blush by Inglot. It’s one of their AMC Face Blushes in number 27. This blush has a really soft and satin texture that makes it really easy to apply and it’s really nice and pigmented. I also really love the shade I bought. It’s a bit of an old pink colour and I love that on the cheeks. It’s also a rather long lasting blush so that’s a huge plus too!
My last makeup favourite – and my last favourite in general – of the month of August is the Too Faced Love Light Highlighter in the shade Blinded By The Light. When I first used it I was a little disappointed by it because it wasn’t as intense as I expected, but now that I know how to properly apply it I absolutely love it. It’s one of the prettiest highlighters I own and I use it a ton!
And those were all of my August favourites. I know it was quite a lot, but I truly love all of these products a lot. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know what you’ve been loving lately!
